Tri-Rail Transfer Information
 
   

TRANSFER TO TRI-RAIL FROM:

Tri-Rail Shuttle Bus
No ticket required when traveling to a station.

Broward County Transit
Passengers with a valid Tri-Rail Monthly or Roundtrip ticket (dated the same day as travel) must pay a 50-cent fee when boarding a bus that connects directly to a Tri-Rail station. If more than one bus is required to reach the station, passengers must pay the appropriate full bus fare on those buses that do not directly connect to a Tri-Rail station.

Passengers without a valid Tri-Rail ticket will pay all applicable bus fares and will be issued a free BCT transfer slip valid for a $1.00/50¢ discount off the price of a Tri-Rail ticket.

Metrorail
Passengers must purchase a transfer for 50¢ and receive a $1.75/75¢* discount on the price of a Tri-Rail ticket. Passengers must retain the transfer to present at Tri-Rail’s Ticket Kiosk and/or onboard train for verification of transfer eligibility.

Metrobus
Passengers must obtain a free, paper transfer from the MDT bus operator and receive a $1.75/75¢* discount on the price of a Tri-Rail ticket. Passengers must retain the transfer to present at Tri-Rail’s Ticket Kiosk and/or onboard train for verification of transfer eligibility.

Palm Tran
Passengers boarding a Palm Tran bus with a valid Tri-Rail ticket** must pay a 50-cent transfer fee.  If two buses are needed to reach a Tri-Rail station, passengers will pay a 50¢ bus-to-bus transfer fee plus a bus-to-rail fee of an additional 50¢.

Passengers boarding a Palm Tran bus without a Tri-Rail ticket will pay the appropriate fare, of which $1.25/65¢ will be deducted from the cost of a Tri-Rail ticket. Passengers must retain transfer to present at ticket booth and/or onboard train for verification of transfer eligibility.

TRANSFER FROM TRI-RAIL TO:

Tri-Rail Shuttle Bus
FREE with valid Tri-Rail ticket.

Broward County Transit
Passengers with a valid Tri-Rail ticket** traveling from a Tri-Rail Station or within 1/4 mile of a Tri-Rail Station to a BCT bus will pay a 50¢ transfer fee upon boarding the BCT bus.  Transferring to another BCT bus will require the appropriate BCT fare.

Metrorail
Passengers with a One-Way, Roundtrip or 12-Trip** Ticket with Metrorail as a destination, must obtain a free EASY Ticket from the Tri-Rail’s Metrorail Transfer Station Ticket Kiosk at the time of travel. Passengers with a Monthly Ticket can exchange their valid Tri-Rail Monthly Ticket at any of Tri-Rail’s Ticket Kiosks (from the 26th of a month to the 15th of the following month) for a free EASY Card with a Tri-Rail Monthly Sticker valid for travel onboard Tri-Rail and Metrorail. Metrobus
Tri-Rail Monthly tickets (regularly priced and discounted) will be accepted throughout Miami-Dade County on all regular Miami-Dade Transit bus service EXCEPT EXPRESS BUSES.

Other Tri-Rail tickets (regularly priced and discounted) will be accepted as a valid "Tri-Rail-to-bus" transfer for boardings at LOCAL MDT routes near a Tri-Rail station.

One-Way, Roundtrip or 12-Trip tickets** will only be accepted and considered valid as a "Tri-Rail-to-bus" transfer when a Miami-Dade/Tri-Rail station is stated as a destination on the ticket. The bus operator will retain One-Way tickets when presented as transfers.

Palm Tran
Passengers boarding a Palm Tran bus directly from a Tri-Rail station and with a valid Tri-Rail ticket will be entitled to free passage EXCEPT THE 95 COMMUTER EXPRESS. Regular fares apply when transferring onto the 95 Commuter Express, any additional buses taken will be subject to a transfer fee.

*$1.75 is the discounted amount received on a regularly priced
Tri-Rail ticket. For passengers eligible for a discounted Tri-Rail ticket (click here for Tri-Rail’s Discount Policy), 75¢ is the discounted amount received.

**12-trip tickets that are not validated are excluded from transfers
