The New River Bridge Project entails the construction of a 55-foot high, fixed-span bridge over the South Fork of the New River. The bridge will consist of approximately 8,822 feet of double track and 3,692 feet of bridge, and was designed to accommodate both Tri-Rail and Amtrak trains (upon completion, trains will be able to pass over the river without interference from boating traffic).
